I just ordered a PayMaya card today. PayMaya card is a Visa card with EMV chip for better security against fraud.
1 card is worth 150 Pesos and since I live in Davao City, I will shoulder a shipping fee amounting to 50 Pesos. They also offer a family bundle, so if you want to give your family members a PayMaya card, then you can save if you choose the offer. You can buy the family bundle for 600 Pesos and you’ll get 5 cards.
What’s awesome – it offers a cash on the delivery option so I have chosen that. The famous PayPal option is also there.
I am planning to use PayMaya with my PayPal. Right now, I have been using EON by Unionbank, but I want to try PayMaya.
PayMaya has an Android App where I can link my card so I can track balances and transactions – I am looking forward to that. However, there is an extra step – a free Upgrade in order to use the card on ATM machines. Here is the link to the upgrade instruction.
We only need to have a 1 valid primary ID or 2 secondary IDs to proceed with the validation.
One thing I need to clarify now though is the PayPal transaction fee when I withdraw money from PayPal to PayMaya. Right now, an FAQ from their website says it’s Php250. I already sent a ticket to their support and waiting for their answer. Link.
As per experience, when I will withdraw money to my EON visa debit card, the transaction fee is only Php50, the Php250 charge only applies when I will withdraw the money to my bank.
I will update this post soon…
